Roots night will be day 1 of the experience, on 01 September 2017. The activities will start from 17:00 to 03:00. This evening will be infused with tenors of cultural festivities that will imbue the Trans Kalahari skylight with colours of song and praise. The evening will be spread into 3 areas namely Dinaledi Campfire Area, ‘Naneo Visuals Area and Merethetho Area. All performances will run concurrently.
In this area, the evening’s star filled sky will be blushed by a Bonfire. Guest will be seated around the fire to listen to live performances that include ethnic Story Telling, Poetry Session, Praise Singing, Singing and e
thnic dancing. Our aim is to create an experience that will allow the audience to have direct interaction with performers. T
o enable performers and the audience to engage in discussions, mini lessons where possible and
/or Q&A. This will be held outdoors to create an ambiance that is synonymous with original ethos of SA traditional and ethnic entertainment. The line-up will be managed and hosted by Melodi Publishing.
This area is meant to showcase locally produced and/or ethnic films and short stories. MokoShale Productions, a reputable film production company will be responsible for management , provision of equipment and the programme in the area. This area will be
a tent, arranged to resemble a cinema with a twist. We will create a setting that is relaxed and appropriate for couples, groups and singles alike. We will provide an atmosphere that will enable the audience to engage with the producers/writers in a brief Q&A session after each show.

This area will be the main stage where live bands will perform. The line-up and stage will be hosted by 3G Sound and managed by Uber Exposure. The performances will include reputable South African music performers. The performances will be hosted by two MCs.
